NAMI Walks Los Angeles County, a United Day of Hope was May 21st!
NAMIWalks is a once-a-year fund and awareness raising opportunity in the form of a 5k walk and community celebration. The 2022 Walk took place at Grand Park in Los Angeles and served as largest mental health walk in the greater Los Angeles area. NAMI Greater Los Angeles affiliates, volunteers and participants gathered #Together4MH for the first time in two years! The volume of people who turn out for NAMIWalks is a powerful reminder that we are #NotAlone and demonstrates how many of us are affected by and are fighting for #MentalHealthForAll. Seeing and supporting each other is what keeps us going and is an inspiring and grounding experience. NAMI Pomona Valley would like to thank our Walk Coordinator Davi Weber for all of her amazing work organizing and cheerleading us on, our sponsor Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for their generous gift along with all our donors and fundraising members who’ve helped us maintain our funding, our incredible staff members Kyoni Cummings and Melissa Branard for hosting the NAMI PV info table and providing water for participants, our Tri-City Mental Health Services colleagues and collaborators who turned up to volunteer, and all of the particpants who remind us why we do what we do and motivate us to keep going.
Speaking of fundraising, the 2022 Pomona Valley goal is $17,000 and every little bit helps. As of the beginning of July we have collectively raised 30% of our goal and again thank you because we couldn’t do without your help! We are still working to meet our goal in order to provide quality mental health services throughout the rest of the year. We invite you to spread the word by donating and/or fundraising! Donations can be done online through our official NAMI Pomona Valley SUPER Team page, or by checks made out to: NAMI Walks Los Angeles County and mailed to 3600 Wilshire Blvd., Ste. 1804, Los Angeles, CA 90010.
