NAMIWalks is a once-a-year fundraising event that is traditionally held in-person. Participants of every relationship to NAMI solicit donations, gather regionally, and walk a 5k together in celebration of, in honor of, and to raise awareness for #MentalHealthForAll. To be a part of such an event is an incredible reminder of how many people in your community and beyond are actively working together to support and improve the lives of people dealing with mental health conditions. NAMIWalks is a powerful experience that shows us that we are #NotAlone.
We are going virtual this year and NAMIWalks Your Way: A United Day of Hope will take place on Saturday, May 22nd from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. As we learned last year, a virtual experience is every bit as empowering, inspiring, and effective as an in-person event, only with more ways to participant than just “walk!” Participants are encouraged to do their favorite activity, as safely and socially distanced as necessary, to fundraise or just be a part of the community. Pomona Valley residents are a wonderfully diverse group of people who have many interests, talents, skills, and ways of expressing themselves. Participants fundraising can do so as individuals, form their own teams, or join our affiliate’s team! Registration for fundraising is good up to and even after Walk Day; we are really working to achieve our goal of $16,800. We look forward to hearing from you, seeing you, and participating together in our own unique ways to ensure that NAMI Pomona Valley is funded and continues to provide you with quality mental health care support. Let’s go team!
